June was a month of development, teamwork, and continued investment in both our people and the services we provide. From engineers gaining new qualifications and sharing specialist knowledge to completing a variety of domestic and commercial projects, the month demonstrated PGS’s commitment to continually improving our capabilities while delivering reliable solutions for our customers.
With summer now in full swing, it’s also a crucial time for customers to think about the performance of their air conditioning systems. As temperatures continue to rise, demand for servicing and maintenance increases, making now the ideal time to book in before schedules become busier. A well-maintained air conditioning system not only keeps your property comfortable during the warmer months but also operates more efficiently and is less likely to suffer unexpected breakdowns when it’s needed most.
Investing in Our Team
At PGS, we believe that investing in our people is just as important as investing in the equipment and services we provide. This month, our engineer Korben successfully completed IPAF training, expanding his qualifications and allowing us to safely undertake work at height using powered access equipment when required.
Knowledge sharing also played an important role throughout June. Our engineers Dom and Harvey carried out a gas purge at one of our commercial customer’s warehouses, with our engineer Hugh joining them on site to gain a deeper understanding of the process. Passing on specialist knowledge and supporting the development of our engineers helps ensure the experience within PGS continues to grow, allowing us to provide customers with a wide range of expertise across commercial and industrial systems.
Supporting Customers Across Domestic and Commercial Projects
Our engineering team remained busy throughout June, completing a variety of installations and repair work across both domestic and commercial properties.
Harvey completed the installation of a new sump pump, providing the customer with a reliable solution to manage water effectively and protect their property. Alex attended site alongside our apprentice George to replace a faulty indirect hot water cylinder, ensuring the customer once again had access to dependable hot water.
The team also supplied and installed a replacement LPG boiler, giving the customer an efficient and reliable heating system ready for years to come. Alongside this, our engineers supplied and installed a new set of underfloor heating controls, helping to improve system performance, efficiency, and ease of use.
Preventative Maintenance Matters
Routine maintenance continued to be an important part of our workload throughout June. Hugh carried out magnetic filter maintenance, helping to remove circulating debris and sludge that can reduce heating system efficiency and contribute to premature component failure.
Preventative maintenance like this plays a key role in protecting heating systems, extending their lifespan, and reducing the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns when demand increases during the winter months.
Reaching New Heights
June also demonstrated the versatility of our engineering team. Our engineer Jack quite literally took things to new heights, working from a cherry picker to access equipment within an aircraft hangar reaching heights of up to 28 metres.
Not every project can be completed from ground level, and having engineers trained and equipped to work safely at height means we can support customers across a wider range of specialist environments.
Whether it’s servicing equipment in industrial facilities, carrying out inspections in large commercial buildings, or accessing hard-to-reach plant, PGS has the capability, equipment, and expertise to deliver work safely and efficiently, regardless of the height or complexity of the job.
Summer Boiler Service Offer
Although many boilers are switched off during the warmer months, summer remains the ideal time to have them serviced before the heating season returns. Throughout June, we continued promoting our Domestic Boiler Service offer, with servicing available for just £85 until 31st July.
Booking a boiler service during the summer allows any potential issues to be identified well before the colder weather arrives, helping to avoid the autumn rush and reducing the risk of unexpected breakdowns when you need your heating the most. It’s a simple step that can improve efficiency, support the lifespan of your boiler, and provide peace of mind ahead of winter.
June Summary
June reflected what PGS is all about: continually developing our team, investing in specialist knowledge, and delivering dependable engineering solutions for our customers. Whether completing installations, carrying out preventative maintenance, mentoring the next generation of engineers, or expanding our capabilities through training, every project contributes to the high standards we strive to deliver.
As summer continues, our team remains on hand to support customers with everything from air conditioning servicing and boiler maintenance to commercial mechanical projects and specialist engineering solutions, ensuring systems continue to operate safely, efficiently, and reliably all year round.
