PGS May Recap

May was all about problem-solving.

Whether diagnosing hidden faults, improving heating system performance, carrying out major installations, or helping customers get more from their existing systems, our engineers spent the month tackling a wide variety of challenges across domestic and commercial sites.

Alongside another busy month on the tools, we were also pleased to achieve our F-Gas certification, an important milestone that strengthens our service offering and supports the future growth of the business.

Finding Solutions for Customers

Some of the most rewarding jobs are not always the biggest. Often, it’s identifying the root cause of an issue and restoring a system to full performance that makes the biggest difference to a customer.

During one visit, Korben attended a property where a customer was experiencing extremely poor water flow from a tap. After investigating the issue, he discovered that the thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) filter had become heavily restricted by limescale. Once cleaned and restored, the water pressure returned to normal, resolving the problem without the need for replacement parts.

Similarly, Dom attended a heating system where a leaking automatic air vent was causing issues. Rather than simply replacing the failed plastic component like-for-like, he upgraded the system with a high-quality brass unit to provide a more reliable long-term solution.

Across the month, the team also completed a variety of tap, toilet, and general plumbing repairs, helping customers quickly resolve faults and avoid further disruption.

Investing in Better Heating Systems

supply and replace lpg boiler

May saw several projects focused on improving the performance, efficiency, and reliability of customers’ heating and hot water systems.

We supplied and replaced LPG boilers for customers whose existing appliances had reached the end of their lifespan, providing dependable and energy-efficient replacements that will continue to serve them for years to come.

The team also carried out boiler and system flushes to remove accumulated sludge and debris from heating systems. While often hidden from view, this build-up can significantly impact efficiency and performance. By cleaning the systems thoroughly, we helped customers improve circulation, reduce strain on components, and maximise system longevity.

In addition, new underfloor heating controls were installed to give customers greater control over their heating, helping improve comfort levels and energy efficiency throughout their properties.

Supporting Commercial Clients

Alongside our domestic work, the team continued to support commercial customers with essential upgrades and installations.

One such project saw Korben complete the installation of a new hot water cylinder for a commercial client, ensuring the site could continue operating with a reliable and efficient hot water supply.

These projects play an important role in helping businesses maintain safe, dependable facilities for both staff and visitors.

Another Busy Month for the Team

Bathroom upgrades remained a regular feature throughout May, with Korben installing additional shower screens as part of ongoing improvement works for customers looking to modernise their bathrooms.

Meanwhile, Hugh continued developing his practical experience by assisting with boiler servicing works throughout the month, gaining valuable exposure to a range of heating systems and maintenance procedures.

Officially F-Gas Certified

One of the standout achievements of May was PGS officially becoming F-Gas certified.

This certification reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest industry standards and enables us to support a wider range of heating, cooling, and renewable technology projects moving forward. As customer demand continues to evolve, achieving this accreditation marks another important step in the continued growth and development of the business.

May Summary

From fault-finding and repairs to major heating upgrades and commercial installations, May showcased the breadth of services delivered by the PGS team.

Every project was different, but the goal remained the same: providing customers with practical, reliable solutions delivered to the highest standard. Combined with the achievement of F-Gas certification, May was another positive month as we continue to invest in our people, expand our capabilities, and support customers across every stage of their property’s maintenance and improvement journey.
