HVAC Installation
A successful HVAC installation starts before equipment arrives on site.
The system needs to meet the requirements of the building, the people using it and the demands that will be placed upon it. Building use, occupancy, operating hours, heating and cooling loads, ventilation requirements, existing infrastructure, controls, access and future maintenance all need to be considered.
PGS provides HVAC installation for new and existing commercial buildings, including new systems, replacement installations and upgrades to existing HVAC provision.
For replacement projects, we can assess the existing installation and understand why replacement is being considered. A like-for-like replacement is not automatically the right answer if the building, its occupancy or its operational requirements have changed since the original system was installed.
Every project begins with understanding the building, the existing provision where applicable and what the new HVAC installation needs to achieve.
PGS can design, specify and select HVAC systems to meet the requirements of the project, or work to an existing consultant or client specification where one is already in place.

Depending on the system and symptoms, diagnosis may involve checking controls and sensors, electrical components, airflow, fans, pumps, filters, coils, refrigerant circuits and other mechanical or system components.
The objective is to identify the underlying fault rather than simply addressing the symptom.

PGS is REFCOM F-Gas certified for work on stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment containing fluorinated greenhouse gases.
Our company certification covers the installation, commissioning, decommissioning, repair, maintenance and servicing of relevant equipment, with appropriately qualified personnel undertaking work where F-Gas requirements apply.

Can you take over an HVAC system installed or previously maintained by another contractor?
Yes. PGS can assess existing HVAC equipment regardless of who originally installed or maintained it. Where service information is available, this can help us understand the system's history. Where records are limited, we can establish the current condition and maintenance requirements from the starting point we find.
What happens if there is limited or no service history for our HVAC equipment?
Missing service history does not automatically mean the equipment needs replacing. We can assess what is installed, its current condition and performance, identify any immediate issues and establish what maintenance or further investigation is appropriate. From there, an ongoing service history can be built as future work is completed.
How do you decide whether an HVAC system should be repaired or replaced?
There is rarely one factor that determines the answer. Equipment condition, age, reliability, repair frequency, system performance, energy use, parts availability, obsolescence and the cost and extent of the required repair can all influence the decision. We also consider whether the existing system still meets the requirements of the building.
