September has been another busy month for the PGS team, with our engineers carrying out servicing, repairs, installations and maintenance across both domestic and commercial properties. With the colder months approaching, a big focus has been making sure heating and hot water systems are ready to work when our customers need them most.
It has also been an exciting month for the team, with two new apprentices joining us, a new HVAC specialist coming on board and plenty of opportunities for our engineers to share their knowledge and experience.
Getting Winter Ready 🔧
As temperatures start to drop, September is a great time to make sure heating systems are working properly before they are needed every day. Our engineers have carried out multiple domestic and commercial boiler services, annual plant room servicing, oil boiler servicing and temperature checks throughout the month.
Regular servicing gives customers the opportunity to spot potential issues early, helping keep systems running safely and efficiently while reducing the risk of unexpected breakdowns when heating is needed most. For our commercial customers, ongoing plant room maintenance also helps keep essential heating and hot water equipment operating as it should.
We have also completed a range of repairs and replacements to get individual systems back up and running. This has included replacing a water heater and immersion heater, repairing boilers with new diverter valves and motors, replacing combi valves and pressure relief valves, installing a three-port valve and carrying out new pipework.
These types of repairs can make a real difference to customers, whether that means restoring hot water, improving heating performance or resolving a fault before it develops into a larger problem.
Alongside heating work, our engineers have been busy with a variety of other plumbing and maintenance jobs. This has included tap replacements, shower cartridge and shower head works, boiler fan installation and UV filter replacement, as well as boiler fault finding and Legionella testing.
From resolving a faulty shower or tap to identifying why a boiler isn’t operating correctly, these jobs help keep essential systems working reliably and give customers peace of mind that problems are being properly investigated and addressed.
New Faces, New Skills 👋
September has been a particularly exciting month for the PGS team as we welcomed two new apprentice plumbers, Lily and Archie, as well as Rob, our new HVAC specialist.
Our apprentices have already been getting stuck in and learning from our experienced engineers on real jobs. Lily has been out with Steve carrying out boiler servicing and flue gas analysis, giving her valuable experience of checking heating systems and understanding what engineers look for during a service.
Archie has been involved in water filtration maintenance, tap removals, boiler servicing and more, building up experience across a variety of plumbing jobs.
George has also continued developing his skills, including working on new copper pipework installations and carrying out flue gas analysis.
Having apprentices working alongside experienced engineers means they can develop their practical skills while seeing first-hand the standards and attention to detail needed when working in customers’ homes and commercial properties.
We also held a team photoshoot this month, giving us the chance to update our images and, most importantly, show the people behind PGS.
Center Parcs: September Tradition 🌲
Every September, our engineers head to Center Parcs for the annual lodge servicing programme, and this year was no different.
The PGS team carried out servicing and checks across the lodges, helping make sure heating and hot water systems were maintained and any potential issues could be identified as part of the programme.
For Center Parcs, this regular servicing is an important part of keeping the lodges running reliably for guests. Carrying out planned maintenance also means potential problems can be picked up before they turn into unexpected issues.
This year was particularly exciting for Lily and Archie, who joined the team for the first time. It gave our new apprentices the opportunity to experience the scale of the servicing programme, work alongside the wider team and see how planned maintenance is carried out across a large number of properties.
And That's a Wrap on September!
September has been all about keeping customers’ heating, hot water and plumbing systems running safely and reliably, while getting ready for the colder months ahead.
From routine servicing and preventative maintenance to fault finding, repairs and replacements, every job has helped our customers keep essential systems working as they should and address issues before they become bigger problems.
A huge thank you to our customers for their continued support and to the whole PGS team for another busy month. With Lily, Archie and Rob now part of the team, there’s plenty more to look forward to as we head into the final few months of the year.
